A week ago a friend of mine went through a legitimately horrible circumstance: His 5 year old daughter daughter Jada was found to have kidney cancer and had to have surgery to remove the football-size tumor.
As I was praying for them last Monday, I would literally get sick to my stomach thinking about a little 5 year old getting cut open. (It was far too easy to picture my 4 year old son under the knife, which made it brutal to think about.) I can only imagine what Jada's parents went through that day.
How's that for an inspiring post? Luckily I'm almost done.
I'm so glad to say that the surgery was successful. In the end though, it was the family's response to this suffering that should serve as a inspiration to us all. I would pull a few quotes from Doug's blog, but the whole thing is worth reading.

So be inspired by affliction, it's making you more like Christ.
And pray for the Rumbolds as you think of it!
